Made using traditional methods, such as direct coal-fired distillation, the Yoichi single malt captures the authentic character of its coastal location on the island of Hokkaido. A subtle whisky with a delicate smoky profile and marine aromas.
MASH: 100% malted barley (peated malt). MAIN MATURATION: new American oak casks and ex-sherry casks.
TASTING NOTES:
- Nose: full and smooth. Smoky, with marine notes, fruity (candied lemon), spicy (ginger) and floral.
- Palate: firm and powerful. Smoky, fruity (melon, kiwi) and saline.
- Finish: long and silky. Fruity (pear, mirabelle plum, ripe apple), aromatic (coriander, dill), saline and smoky.
