Nikka's iconic whisky, From The Barrel, is a blend of unique malts from Miyagikyo and Yoichi, together with grain whisky. Intense and generous, powerful yet balanced, this ambitious high-strength blend stands out for its originality.
BLEND: Grain whisky distilled in a Coffey still (maize base). Malt distilled at the Miyagikyo distillery. Malt distilled at the Yoichi distillery. Mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks (American oak).
TASTING NOTES:
- Nose: fine and complex. Floral (lilac), fruity (apricot), spicy (clove) and with some leathery notes.
- Palate: powerful and firm. Pepper, oak, fruity (peach, caramelised apple) and floral (honeysuckle).
- Finish: long. Coastal notes, fruity (plum), oak and vanilla.
