WINEMAKING:
Tempranillo: 7% of the must is bled off. Pre-fermentative maceration with the skins lasts three days. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at 26°C, with controlled pump-overs and a 24-day post-fermentative maceration with the skins. Free-run wine is obtained by gravity. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in underground cement tanks.
Mazuelo: Alcoholic fermentation in small stainless-steel tanks, with a prior bleeding of 10% of the must. Free-run wine obtained by gravity. Malolactic fermentation takes place in underground cement tanks.
Tempranillo: Aged for 25 months in medium-toast mixed oak barrels (80% French oak and 20% American oak).
Mazuelo: Aged for 20 months in lightly toasted French oak barrels.
After the final blending, the wine rests in bottle for at least three years before release.

TASTING NOTES:
Beautiful garnet-red color, medium to medium-high intensity, with a pronounced glyceric rim when swirled. On the nose, very clean black fruit aromas (blueberries, blackberries); after aeration, notes of licorice appear along with spicy hints of black pepper and vanilla. On the palate, the perfect balance between elegant oak tannins and ripe fruit makes the wine remarkably round, smooth, and seductive. Long finish with very elegant, velvety tannins.

ORIGIN:
The Tempranillo grapes come entirely from vineyards in Rioja Alta, most of them located very close to the winery, in villages such as Fuenmayor, Navarrete, Sotés, Cenicero, and Badarán.
The Mazuelo variety was harvested from vineyards in the Medrano area, offering an ideal tannic potential for barrel aging while preserving fresh fruit character.
