ELABORATION:
Tempranillo: Dry-farmed, bush-trained vineyards with an average age of over 40 years, planted in Rioja Alta in villages with a strong winemaking tradition: Fuenmayor, Cenicero, Baños de Ebro, Sajazarra, Cuzcurrita, and Arenzana. Poor soils with sandy texture and low organic matter typical of Rioja Alta. Average vine age exceeds 40 years and yields do not exceed 5500 kg/ha.
Graciano: Vineyard located in the Pradejón area, Rioja Oriental, near the Ebro River meander, at 360 meters altitude, where the climate is more Mediterranean and the soils are more clayey.
AWARDS AND MENTIONS:
Mundus Vini – Gold (2025)
Puntos Gourmets – 95 points
TASTING NOTES:
Beautiful garnet red color with ruby rim and high intensity. On the nose it is extremely clean; as the wine opens and breathes, it offers an endless array of notes of stewed fruit, blackberries, blueberries, and prunes. Notes of cinnamon, clove, basil, and vanilla become intense and powerful. The palate is harmonious and broad, with enveloping and velvety tannins that guide the passage through the mouth with a strong presence of ripe fruit and spices. Balanced natural acidity provides a wonderful sensation of elegance. Endless aftertaste; a wine that does not go unnoticed.
ORIGIN:
A vintage that will be remembered in many parts of Europe due to the frost suffered on April 28th. A harvest marked by low yields and fruit of great quality and small berry size thanks to the absence of pests and diseases throughout the vegetative cycle. Wines with exceptional tannic concentration and great aging potential. In the case of the Gran Reserva vineyards, production was much lower but the grapes showed exceptional tannic and aromatic concentration parameters.
