ELABORATION AND AGEING
The Garnacha comes from two different vineyards. One is located in the village of Arenzana in Rioja Alta, at 542 metres above sea level, with vines over 80 years old. This is how a blend with sublime acidity, harmony and elegance is achieved. The other lies in Rioja Oriental, near the Ebro River, at 350 metres. The soils there are more clayey and the vines more vigorous, with greater sun exposure, resulting in a more Mediterranean Garnacha with deeper colour, firmer tannins and higher alcohol.
The grapes from the two plots are vinified separately and the final blending is carried out at the end of the process. 26 months of ageing in mixed oak barrels (American oak staves and French oak heads) and 100% new French oak barrels, with a minimum of 20 months in bottle.
TASTING NOTE
Colour: striking cherry-red colour of medium intensity.
Aroma: fresh and very fruity, with notes of ripe red fruit and sweet aromas of vanilla and coconut. Very intense.
Taste: surprising, friendly and lively on the palate. Vibrant tannins without harsh edges and an abundance of fruit that fills the mouth. Truly varietal, a showcase of a great old Garnacha.
