ELABORATION
Made from grapes from vineyards over 40 years old, with yields of 4,700kg/ha. A small vineyard planted in the area between Fuenmayor and Cenicero, Rioja Alta. Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature, with maceration in contact with its skins for 28 to 35 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in underground concrete tanks. 36 months of aging in French oak barrels with a medium toast. Once the fullness of its aging had been reached, it was bottled to rest and evolve for a minimum of 15 years before being marketed.
TASTING NOTES
It has a very full color, medium-high layer. Ruby red with orange nuances but without much evolution. On the nose it is very powerful and with great style, like a good perfume. Initial notes of truffle and tobacco. After oxygenation, candied fruit and dates appear with a background of hay and dried herbs. Very changing and complex. The palate is unctuous and long with a lively acidity that makes it very expressive. Very long in the aftertaste where that candied fruit and smoky notes reappear. It surprises again throughout the tasting due to its enormous complexity.

VINTAGE: 1994. Excellent.
Vegetative cycle with very mild winter but a significant frost in spring that considerably reduced production. For the first time in 20 years, the harvest began in Rioja Baja on September 1 and in the early areas of Rioja Alta and Alavesa between the 6th and 10th. The generalized harvest throughout the Rioja Denomination of Origin begins on September 18. September and ends on October 22, the grapes entering the winery very healthy, in perfect technical ripening conditions to make great wines.
