The Osborne Group – winner of EY’s Family Business Award of Excellence
El Puerto de Santa María, February 2020 | Yesterday, Spain’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019 awards ceremony took place at Madrid’s Royal Tapestry Factory, and saw the Osborne Group receive the Family Business Award of Excellence. This achievement is recognition of Osborne’s long history, having led the way in the premium food and drink industry since 1772. Ignacio Osborne collected the award yesterday during a ceremony at which the Third Deputy Prime Minister of Spain and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, and the President of EY Spain, Federico Linares, were present.
During his speech, Federico Linares acknowledged the important work carried out by entrepreneurs in creating wealth and jobs in Spain. ‘Entrepreneurs play a fundamental role in terms of their commitment to progress and society, as well as the environment, sustainable growth and creating value for future generations. These are individuals who, using their talent and knowledge, are able to achieve success in a global and open world’, he explained.
Furthermore, the Third Deputy Prime Minister of Spain and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, noted that awards such as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year ‘recognise certain qualities and characteristics, such as the well-being of employees, the diversity of senior management and aspects such as the trust of clients’. She then went on to highlight how ‘Spain’s business sector is fundamental for the country’s future’.
