The Osborne Foundation has just organised the #RetoLaboral (Job Challenge) with the Cajasol Foundation: a Gastronomy and Tourism encounter in the province of Cádiz that took place in Bodegas Osborne in El Puerto de Santa María. A practical day which saw more than 70 young graduates who are looking for work meet with professionals and 25 hoteliers who are looking for extra employees during the summer season. In short, a space for dialogue and an opportunity to make the perfect match between businesses and talented young people.

"This pioneering project is aimed at resolving the challenge of bridging the gap between training and a first job opportunity that allows the boys and girls who are currently being trained in schools across the whole of the province of Cádiz to develop professionally," explains Iván Llanza, The Osborne Group's Communications Director."As if that were not enough, it also helps solve the eternal dilemma of business owners who need to find professionals with the skills and talent to help their businesses grow. In short, the perfect date for both parties."

The event turned El Puerto de Santa María into an open forum of debate about the latest trends of a practical nature in the hospitality sector. The event involved the main players linked with the food and tourism sector in the province. The morning sessions were dedicated to the role of training in the sector, with the participation of the main Hospitality Schools in the province (Fernando Quiñones, Pintor Juan Lara, Alminares and San Roque). It also gave a platform to iconic establishments in the province such as Grupo El Faro, La Bodeguilla del Bar Jamón, Restaurante La Carboná, la Venta La Duquesa, Toro Tapas and Momento Andaluz Catering.

One of the most interesting activities at the encounter was the Elevator Speech, which gave the pupils the opportunity to gain a first work experience placement in the sector in which they have been trained. Each pupil had one and a half minutes to explain their motivations for wanting to become part of this dedicated profession, as well as highlighting other experiences that could arouse the interest of employers.
