Seville, 28 November 2019. Ignacio Osborne, President of the family group Osborne, has been named EY Entrepreneur of the Year for Andalusia and Extremadura, and will now go on to represent these two regions at the national awards next year, which will be sponsored by BNP Paribas and organised in collaboration with IESE Business School. The President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, presented the award and made the closing remarks at the gala, which took place at the Portuguese Consulate General in Seville.

Alberto García Valera, Managing Partner at EY Andalusia, opened the event, which was attended by Federico Linares, President of EY Spain, as well as representatives from the Regional Government of Andalusia, including Elias Bendodo, Chief Advisor to the President and Minister for Public Administration and the Interior, Rocío Blanco, Minister for Employment, Training and Self-Employment, Juan Bravo, Minister for Finance, Rogelio Velasco, Minister for Economic Affairs, and Carmen Crespo, Minister for Agriculture. The gathering also brought together leading business figures from the region, as well as Álvaro del Río, Director of BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Andalusia, and Luis Arias, Head of Institutional Relations and Alumni at the Madrid campus of IESE Business School.

Ignacio Osborne will now represent Andalusia and Extremadura at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award Spain, to be held in Madrid on 20 February next year, where he will compete with the other regional winners. To date, the following have been announced: Antonio Arias Paredes, Vice President and CEO of the Vectalia Group (Valencia and Murcia), Alfonso Sesé, President of the Sesé Group and Clemente Loriente, CEO of Incarlopsa (central Spain) and Antonio Horrach, CEO of HM Hoteles (Balearic Islands).

The winner from Spain will then go on to compete with around 60 representatives from all over the world in Monte Carlo to be named EY World Entrepreneur of the Year.

This initiative began in the USA in 1986 and has been held in Spain for the past 24 years.
