Our shoulder ham is made from the front leg of a pure Iberian pig, one that feeds primarily on acorns. We create this jewel of Spanish haute cuisine from a careful selection of the most exclusive free-range 100% ibérico pigs. They are cared for diligently throughout their lives and their diet rich in acorns gives them a high percentage of oleic acid. Cinco Jotas shoulder ham is also rich in the most important omega oils: omeaga-3, omega-6 and omega-9, making for a truly healthy indulgence!
Storage: To best preserve the shoulder ham, store it away in a cool and well-ventilated place until ready to eat. Remove from the cover and paper wrapping, and make sure you have the necessary utensils. To make the most of this delicacy, we recommend you have a ham holder, a wide-blade knife that allows you to remove the fat from the leg, and a long flexible ham knife with a sharpener. Make sure the freshly-carved area of the shoulder ham is kept clean. Cover it with thin slices of ham fat removed at the start of the process, to avoid exposure to the air.
