Cinco Jotas acorn-fed 100% ibérico ham 6-7 kg. Whole leg of 6 to 7 kg. The most exclusive ham in the world.

Cinco Jotas is recognized internationally as a veritable jewel of Spanish gastronomy. Its 100% ibérico pigs have been bred free range in the great meadows of south-west Spain, enjoying a acorn-based diet. Cinco Jotas, true to its origins, has always preserved the purity of the breed without crossing breeding, and also attentively preserved the natural ecosystem where they thrive. The meadows of south-western Spain ensure optimal feeding conditions of the Cinco Jotas pure-bred Iberian pigs.

During the Montanera period the animals roam about 14 km. daily to find acorns, its primary food during this season. Acorns are responsible for the end products’ unique taste and the sensorial and nutritional qualities – helping to reduce “bad” cholesterol and to improve cardiovascular health.

For more than 140 years, Cinco Jotas has maintained its natural, artisanal production process, , preserving the experiences and traditions meticulously passed down generation after generation.

The Cinco Jotas natural curing cellars are located in Jabugo, in the Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park, which is part of the UNESCO Dehesas de Sierra Morena Biosphere Reserve. It is in this privileged place where a slow and natural curing process takes place, with nature as they key influencer.

TIPS Storage: Once at home, the ham should be kept in a cool and ventilated place until it's time to indulge. The product should be removed from the brown paper that protects it.

Before carving the ham, be sure to have the necessary equipment: a ham holder, a knife with a wide blade to remove the fat, a long and flexible ham knife and a knife sharpener. Don’t forget to leave the carving area exceptionally clean when done, and to protect the newly-carved section of the ham leg to prevent oxidation. We recommend covering those exposed areas with some thin slices of fat from the ham itself.

To accompany this incomparable morsel we recommend a delightful pairing with our Fino Quinta sherry, a combination that will allow you to enjoy the maximum flavours and texture of each of the products.
