OUR WINE

The Solaz range consists of honest, fruit-forward and contemporary Spanish wines that reflect the unique terroir of our family-owned vineyards. Started by nature, nurtured by Bodegas Osborne´s 200 year old winemaking heritage, and finished by the talents of our winemaker. OUR TERROIR

Located in the Spanish region of Tierra de Castilla, our estate in Malpica is the largest family-owned vineyard in a single-estate across Europe. Our vineyards are nestled in the ancient riverbeds of the Tajo River, 500 meters above sea level and surrounded by the Toledo hills and Gredos mountain range. Mineral-rich clay, limestone soils and a sunny climate all year-round provide ideal conditions for growing high quality and flavor-rich grapes.

COUPAGE

50% native Spanish Tempranillo 50% Cabernet Sauvignon

WINEMAKING

Vinified at controlled temperature of no more than 24ºC/75ºF. Intense maceration during the first stage of fermentation, which lasted 11 days, for rich color and aroma extraction. Followed by malolactic fermentation at 20ºC/68ºF where the wine softens, retaining the very distinctive varietals character. Bottled on the property.  

SENSORY ENJOYMENT
 
Look: Intense deep cherry color, clean and brilliant.

Aromas & Palate: Elegant and balanced, with hints of red and black fruits and spices. This follows through to the palate that presents ripe fruit and black chocolate. Soft and round tannins with a long finish.

SERVING & GASTRONOMY

An easy drinking and versatile wine that pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes. Best enjoyed as an accompaniment to succulent red meat dishes, roast chicken, red sauce pasta dishes or Spanish tapas. This wine is best enjoyed while it is young and exuberant.
